2010 Spring Baseball Season Opening Day - March 27th, 2010 Plan on a FULL day of activities!
About the Hit-A-Thon ---
The Hit-A-Thon is a GALL fund raising
event that will help provide the league with a major source of income
each year. Although we receive donations from local businesses
(sponsors), a fund raiser is still necessary to keep our low
registration fees and cover league expenses. The Hit-A-Thon can and will
be a great success for our league. The Hit-A-Thon is a fun and exciting
event that provides participants an opportunity to earn valuable prizes.
Players will receive Sponsor Forms from their manager (online or in
person). Sponsors will pay a flat donation to support the player in the
Hit-A-Thon. The donation may be made by either cash or check.
Please make checks payable to: Gilbert American Little League What happens at the Hit-A-Thon? - The Hit-A-Thon will take place on opening day. Each team will have an assigned time to bat. Each player will hit off a batting tee so that every player will have an equal advantage. Each player will get 3 "at-bats". The longest hit will be the one that counts and is recorded. The player that hits the greatest distance on their team will win a special "G.A.L.L. 2010 Hit-A-Thon Bat". Each player may hit and will receive a prize for their participation. To be eligible to win the bat, the player must raise a minimum of $20. Remember, going door to door is not the only way to obtain sponsors. Mom and Dad and other family members can help by taking sponsor forms to work, to church and other adult activities. Visit local businesses. Many businesses are willing to and look forward to supporting Little Leagues.Hit-A-Thon Money will be collected by your team manager NO LATER THAN MARCH 14 th. Failure to turn your money in by this date will delay the ordering of your child’s prizes and they won’t get them on opening day along with the other kids. For more information and forms - Click here! Presidents Award All boys are invited to write a 300 word essay on what Little League has meant to them – taught them – or what they have gotten out of the experience. There will be one winner in EACH division. Each winner will receive a $100 Gift Card and FREE Spring Registration (it will be refunded). The Essay must be hand written and mailed to GALL, PO BOX 212, Higley, AZ 85236. We ask that they be postmarked by March 13th to give the board plenty of time to read them all before Opening Day.
